Cypress schools are committed to high expectations of children's behaviour. We see discipline as a joint responsibility, between home and school. Working together we can help our children to become responsible citizens.

We have a system which rewards effort and achievement and a framework of simple rules which support a calm, pleasant atmosphere in which learning can take place. All rules are discussed with children so that they understand what is expected of them. We try to ensure that all rules and sanctions are consistent and fair and reflect a positive attitude to behaviour.

Parents are asked to co-operate by supporting and upholding disciplinary measures taken by the school. Any child with serious behavioural problems will, after due consideration be given a specific programme to aid improvements.

Bullying/Racism/Sexism

Bullying, racism and sexism are unacceptable and we aim to ensure that the chance of it happening is minimised. Incidents reported will be treated seriously, investigated and documented. Parents will be informed and a suitable strategy for dealing with the matter established. Pupils who continue to bully or to exhibit anti social behaviour may be temporarily excluded, followed by permanent exclusion.
