Punctuality and regular attendance are very important for your child. Children should not come to school for at least 24 hours if unwell, but regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
Obviously there are occasions when children are unable to attend because of sickness or a hospital appointment etc. These absences are unavoidable, but please let us know that your child will not be in school and always send a note for our records when he/she returns. If, on the odd occasion a child oversleeps or you have difficulty in getting to school on time, please bring your child into school so that the whole day is not wasted.
Procedures
Children arriving late must report to the secretary's office so that attendance is recorded and a place for lunchtime is secured. We monitor absence and lateness very closely, as we are legally required to do -and liaise with our Educational Welfare Officer over persistent absentees or late comers.
Children should aim to arrive at school 15 minutes before the start ; parents should note that there is no staff supervision before that time
Please be punctual when meeting your child at the end of the day. If you are unavoidably delayed, please telephone and let us know. All late collections are also recorded.
Holidays
Holidays should only be taken out of school time under exceptional circumstances and should be no longer than two weeks. A holiday request form (obtainable from the school office) should be completed one moth before the holiday.
Leaving During School Hours
We do not allow children to leave school on their own or wait for parents at the school gate during school hours. If your child has an appointment, please notify us in advance and report to the school office to collect him/her.
