Dear Parents & Carers,

Welcome back to the new Academic Year.  I’d like to begin by thanking you, your children and all the staff for making me feel so welcome. I’m really impressed with the good behaviour and hard work of all children at the school. I hope you have found the beginning of term to be a calm and purposeful time for your children.

As you may be aware, we are undertaking a full review of all aspects of school life to ensure we become an outstanding school. We have started with a review of our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and Whole School Behaviour. I would welcome your views on these very important areas of school life. Please email me on r.slade@cypressjuniors.co.uk with any thoughts, observations or experiences that will help us work together to meet the needs of all children. I’d also like you to tell me what has gone well since the start of term and what you think we still need to improve.

We have also begun a full review of Teaching and Learning; this includes a close analysis of the curriculum we offer and how we teach it. We want to enable all children to develop and become independent learners. Feel free to share your thoughts on any aspect of how your child is taught or how they learn.

After-School Clubs

Various after-school clubs will be starting next week, please check book-bags for letters about them. We will also be offering some new after-school clubs that will be run by our new Sports Specialists that started teaching your children this week. I will send out a letter on Wednesday which will give full details. We intend starting the new clubs from Monday 22nd September. I’d also welcome your thoughts on the type of clubs that we could be offering.

Start of the Day

Please help us by making sure all children are in the playground before 9:00am each day so that when the bell is rung, they are ready to line-up . Thank you.
